Unreasonable Funerals of Everyday

Burn...burn...
The happy flames keep licking
At the dry lifeless logs
like a dog at a bone...
Leap from branch to branch and then proceed
To the white starched cloth of the dead man.
Amidst the stinging mass of smoke and the dull drone
Of dutiful mourning.
Mourning for one who is
On his way on a marvellous,
mysterious journey...

A distant cousin tries desperately to bejewel her eyes
With
diamond teardrops.
But can't.
Because she doesn't care enough.

A little further along the rough path...walk on.
I'll tell you why...because i want to show you real pain.
Pain of the village children...who stand with disturbed faces
Looking at the funeral.

Their friends are aflame...

Goodbye, they cry...
To all the lovely sunny days when
We embraced your rough hide
To escape monotony.

Goodbye dazzling emerald freshness of spring.
We'll see the sun no more from within
Your protective embrace...
Goodbye and may your souls rest in peace
We wish you a safe journey to heaven.

Do trees go to heaven?
